This is a small section where I feature one song that was composed by Shinya.
Pushing lyrics aside, I plan to delve into the music, hopefully finding some
sort of link that says it's in fact a piece of Shinya's work. The set up
is simple: song title » album » year
Yurameki » GAUZE » 1999
Probably Shinya's most recognizable work. The song itself is upbeat, light
and cheery and would soon prove to be the basis on which fans would base
Shinya's composing style (until he'd throw us a curveball and confuse us
three years later). Though it still holds rather tightly to whatever it is
that makes a Dir en grey song a Dir en grey song, it sets up its own type
of rules. Though it's not completely popish, it has that same kind of vibe
and you get a sense of Shinya's taste in music. Of course what makes this
a Shinya song is the funky rhythm it has. He gives himself a bit of a challenge
with the constant change throughout the entire song, a new rhythm surfacing
every 10 seconds or so. You can associate it with the same kind of upbeat
sound as it's cousin Yokan (written by Die).
