Shinya's composing style is a little odd and harder to decipher than the others. I usually use the process of elimination when it comes to his music, using what I know of the styles of the other four members to help. The reason for this is the way he's always changing it. When you find a common thread between one song to another, he throws another one at you that completely breaks the rules he had set up before. Usually his songs are on a lighter side, and a bit more cheerful, however with the release of six Ugly, he throws you off the scent by composing a heavier sound in Ugly, but reserving the energetic, destined-to-get-stuck-in-your-head sound for umbrella.

The only link that can be used to string all of his works together is what he's given himself to play. Shinya likes to give himself a moment in the spotlight, and the only two solos he's had was in Toriko and umbrella, both songs his own handiwork. Usually his songs have unusual rhythms that rely on his own ability.

Shinya's everchanging style has completely thrown fans, especially myself, for a loop. He adapts quickly to the sound the band is currently experimenting with and can take it to a slightly different level. Shinya's style is hard to figure out because he changes it as the band goes onto to a different sound, almost completely abandoning the style he had written with before. There's a mysterious thread that is stringing all of his work together, but it's very vague and very hard to describe. Whether he confuses people with his composing on purpose or accident I have yet to decide, but it's certainly hard to describe.
